![]() ![]() Then Allstars took over the scene and I played a shit ton of that, it was great. When Allstars was released it wasn't even the best DotA map for a while. Then ice frog Meian and Ragn0r come along and decide too steal all the best hero designs people organically came up with over the years (they even took one directly from tides of blood) and put them all in one map. The best one for a long time was actually called Tides of Blood but the creators of that lost it due to HDD failure. It's just that lane pushing games have existed since the Aeon of Strife map for starcraft since like 1998? Then DotA comes along and there are dozens and dozens and dozens of versions of it for WC3. I have zero interest in League of Legends, but this series and the studio Fortiche are definitely worth watching. Setting, universe, sound design, lighting, colors, editing, everything is just ridiculously good. Every action scene is tense as fuck because you know everyone can and will get hurt, and every plot development feels earned and promising. ![]() The whole thing just has that complexity and detail that makes setting and characters believable, and they don't miss a single step. The story pulls no punches and the world seems infinitely rich. Every character feels real, vulnerable, fully fledged. The writing is mature, human, exciting and incredibly hard hitting. Acting as well, assuming they used mocap. I've never seen such amazing movement animation before, and the camera work is absolutely top notch. If nothing else, the visual splendor puts it up there with the very best from any style or genre, TV or movie. I'm a huge fan of well done 2.5D animation and a huge animation nerd in general, and this was some of the best I've ever seen. Furthermore answers a lot of questions that players have been speculating about for years. High quality, huge marketing campaign, and lots of effort into it. So safe to say Arcane is a solid part of the lore. This is especially true if it's well received (Riot has, on numerous occasions, rewritten the lore due to backlash). Usually higher the quality and more effort put into it, the more likely it's canon. If you play the games, then certain questions do get answered (such as the relationship between Jinx and Vi, which was always hinted, but never explicitly stated). ![]() But we never get TOO much information about it. The reason I say this is that in-game and in other expanded universe, they give us a lot of hints about the backstories of Powder/Jinx, Vi, Ekko, etc. Some things are more solid than others.įor these characters, I'm pretty sure all of what we're seeing is 100% canon. Riot when it comes to their lore is a bit all over the place. And, Idk if it's just because animated shows aren't my cup of tea - though I loved Invincible, and I still watch YuGiOh and Pokémon from time-to-time, but outside of that I'm not much of an animated show type of person - but animated shows lack emotion from characters because well they're animated, and that's how I feel about Arcane I feel like every character lacks emotion. Idc about these characters because I don't play LOL (I know it's said you don't need to know anything about the game, but I'm inclined to disagree with that as I'm completely lost about anything that's happening and who people are). But I'm 3 episodes in and I'm finding it pretty boring. Original: If I'm the only one who feels this way oh well. Matter of fact, I felt annoyed in general whenever it switched to scenes set in Piltover because I truly couldn't give a fuck about it and all I wanted was to keep watching stuff set in the under-city. Matter of fact, I even found myself annoyed whenever it switched to scenes with Jayce or Victor or even both of them in the same scene, because all I wanted was to keep watching Vi. And Jayce and Victor and their whole Saviors of Piltover storyline is incredibly boring to me and I give no fucks about them whatsoever. I really dislike Jinx, although I also disliked Powder - I just find her very obnoxious and honestly outright boring. However, I'm still uninterested with certain characters and their presence within the show. It's a little bit of a spoiler but it's something that I think everyone should know eventually there's a time jump, and this is when things drastically get better. The first half of the season is meh, but the later half ramps things up. High School Musical: The Musical: The SeriesĮdit: Ended up seeing it through and finishing it and wow what a difference! If you're not a fan of the first few episodes and you're questioning if you should keep going yes, keep going.
